We have more than 4,000 registered patients and recognise that sometimes getting an appointment may not be easy, but we do offer various alternatives, from a pre-booked morning and afternoon surgery, plus emergency telephone consultations, emergency appointments, along with extended hours.
When phoning in you will be asked for the reason for your request. This will be so we can assign the best appointment with the most appropriately trained clinician for you. Did you know that your local chemist can now handle many minor ailments? If you do not pay for your medication, this can be extended to the chemist on prescription item.

Get the most from your appointment
- GP appointments are 10 minutes
- Advanced Nurse Practitioner appointments are 15 minutes
We want to give you the best possible outcome and experience from your visit to our medical centre. In order that we can meet the needs of all our patients, we are asking you to try and help us with a few simple considerations that can help us all to get the most from your appointment.
Booking your appointment
- Please do trust the reception staff. The reception staff are here to help you and the clinical team. If you answer their questions as clearly as possible they will be more likely to ensure you can access the right help you need by the right member of theteam and, where appropriate, ensure the right length appointment is booked.
- Appointment length. Our 10 minutes appointments are designed for one problem only. If you have several problems (or one that requires a detailed examination or gynaecological problem) please ask for an extended appointment.
- Appointments to discuss test results or hospital letter. If you are booking an appointment to discuss a test result or a hospital letter, please check with the receptionist that they are available before booking an appointment.
- Seeing your preferred clinician. Your preferred clinician may not be available. We work as an integrated team and being seen timely by a clinician other than your preferred/usual clinician may be more appropriate
- Advanced nurse practitioner prescribers. Our advanced nurse practitioner prescribers are highly skilled and able to deal with most problems. If necessary they will get immediate advice from a GP or arrange a timely appointment with a GP.
- Emergency on the day appointments. These are mainly dealt with by our advanced nurse practitioner prescribers. Please be clear about your need to see a clinician and trust our receptionist. They are trained to book you with the right clinician or, in certain extreme circumstances, advise you if A&E attendance is more appropriate.
Sickness certificates (fit notes)
You must give your employer a doctor's 'fit note' (sometimes called a 'sick note') if you've been ill for more than 7 days in a row and have taken sick leave. This includes non-working days, such as weekends and bank holidays.
Travel vaccinations
Information and advice for travelling abroad.
Home visits
Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10am.
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Our Home Visiting Team will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls
Change or cancel an appointment
Please give us as much notice as possible so we can offer your appointment to someone else.
To cancel your appointment:
- Use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
- Phone us on 01797 320307
- Reply CANCEL to your appointment reminder text message
Missed appointments
When patients fail to attend a pre-booked appointment it prevents someone else being seen. If patients frequently fail to turn up or give enough cancellation notice (24) hours they may be asked to register elsewhere.
Out of hours
Extended access appointments
Early morning and late evening telephone appointments are available throughout the week. We also offer Saturday face-to-face clinics, which are available to all patients registered within the Marsh Primary Care Network (PCN). This means your Saturday appointment may be at a different GP surgery, rather than at your usual surgery.
Urgent treatment centres
Urgent treatment centres are open every day and treat minor illnesses and injuries such as sprains, minor burns and broken bones.
Check if an urgent treatment centre is right for you and see waiting times for some via the Kent and Medway Integrated Care System website
Life threatening
Call 999 or go to A&E now if:
- you or someone you know needs immediate help
- you have seriously harmed yourself – for example, by taking a drug overdose
A mental health emergency should be taken as seriously as a medical emergency.
Non-urgent
Use NHS 111 if:
- You need help now, but it’s not an emergency
There will be someone to provide you with advice and to direct you to a clinician if it is necessary.
